Virgil Wulff Health Problems
Virgil had a laminectomy and fusion at University Community Hospital on March 6th after suffering for a year with spinal stenosis. The operation seemed successful and was sent to Manor Care Rehab Center on the week-end. The latter part of the next week, he was beginning to have more pain and on the morning of Monday, March 19th was sent by ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital Emergency Room where it was discovered he was in septic shock. He had a staph infection called MRSA, which is resistant to most antibiotics. He was in Intensive Care for two weeks and then moved to a hospital room. He had a stroke and two cardiac arrests when they went into the incision during this time to find the infection. He was moved in Habana Health, 2916 Habana Way, Tampa, FL 33629 for what we thought would be a long recovery. His passing in August ended a long, difficult journey.
