IMMORTALITY SEEKERS SYNOPSIS
This novel is a sequel to "Deadlihood"
The follow-on continues the mind-exchange process, whereby the energy of mind (many call it spirit or soul) from one human being is rather routinely transported inside the brain of another. In addition, the process of human cloning is ultimately perfected, thus providing the means of preserving the existence of both "body and soul." Consequently, evolving us into the Age of Immortality.
The story depicts the similar, but quite diverse, incidents happening on two privately-owned islands On one island, human clones were being conceived, born, and raised to an age whereby the brain had substantially matured. Then, using an electronic mind-exchange processing system, the minds of their dying fathers were transported into the brains of these cloned infant sons.
On the second island, which was shrouded in secrecy and well-fortified, shanghaied youths were held captive in prison cells. Their dire fate was forced participations in mind-exchanges with time-urgency patients. Specifically, these illicit exchanges were performed to save near-death relatives of the super-rich Such an exclusive and costly program was highly classified, due, of course, to its adverse moral and religious implications. In addition, public disclosure would generate a horrendous onslaught of pleadings from the terminally disabled and probings from unwelcome immortality seekers.
